The BSc. Value Chain Agriculture Programme complements traditional programmes that focus on agricultural production. The programme targets enterprising applicants who are either aspiring or current agricultural entrepreneurs who are eager to transform Malawi’s agricultural sector into one of the most thriving agricultural sectors in the region and Africa as a whole.  Graduates will develop the appropriate knowledge, understanding, skills and attitudes to take crop and animal products through the entire value chain. The programme will particularly focus on the concept of high value crops and livestock products. The graduates of this programme will be able to manage full value chains of various high value crops and livestock in their own enterprises or other established enterprises. They will also be able to carry out consultancies on value chain analysis of various crops and livestock for the government and private sector or to enter into research for higher degree qualifications in this field.
