Initially known as the Department of Library and Information Science, we evolved in 2016 to better reflect the dynamic nature of the field. - African Library Project for a project on provision of books to Viyele and Katawa CCAP Primary Schools in Mzuzu City, Malawi.
- Open Research Funders Group (ORFG) grant of US$5, 000 for a project on Integrating open access principles in research activities at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Mzuzu University to promote accountability, collaboration, and innovation
