Excellence in Nursing, Compassion in Care

At the Department of Nursing and Midwifery, we are dedicated to shaping the future of healthcare professionals through innovative education and research. Our mission is to produce highly skilled, compassionate, and competent nurses and midwives who are equipped to transform healthcare delivery and improve lives across Malawi and beyond.

The Department of Nursing and Midwifery opened its doors within the Faculty of Health Sciences in 2006 offering Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Midwifery (Generic), later in 2018, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Midwifery (upgrading) having identified a huge need to offer a career path to the eligible Nurse Midwife Technician with a college diploma.
