VIRTUAL 22ND UNIVERSITY CONGREGATION

Mzuzu University wishes to inform all students who completed their studies after
December 2019, their parents, guardians and the general public that the date and
mode for the holding of the 22nd University Congregation has changed. The change
has been necessary owing to the current COVID-19 pandemic which has resulted
in restrictions on public gatherings. In this regard, the 22nd University
Congregation will be held by virtual mode as follows:
DATE : Friday, 26th February 2021
MODE : Virtual – to be covered live by the public broadcasters on TV,
radio stations and to be live streamed online through various
video streaming platforms
TIME : 9:00am
The Chancellor designate, His Excellency the State President, Dr. Lazarus
McCarthy Chakwera will be installed as Chancellor of the University and he will
preside over the Congregation consistent with the Laws of Malawi Cap 30:09
(Mzuzu University Act No. 12 of 1997), Section 14 (1) and (2); and Section 15 (1).
Meanwhile, the University has appointed a Virtual Ceremony Organising SubCommittee of the Congregation and Ceremonies Committee to advise and work on
the modalities towards actualising the virtual Congregation.
Further details will be provided as and when information becomes available to
prepare the graduands and the wider audience accordingly.
