RESCHEDULING OF DATES FOR THE GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY FOR PROJECTS AND FIRST SESSION OF THE 26TH MZUZU UNIVERSITY CONGREGATION
Further to the press release dated 3rd June 2024 announcing the above events, Mzuzu University (MZUNI) wishes to inform all students who completed their studies within the 2023/24 Academic Year, their parents, guardians and the general public that the dates for the Ground Breaking Ceremony for Projects and the First Session of the 26th Congregation, which were planned for 11th and 12th July 2024, have been rescheduled to 1st and 2nd August, 2024, beginning at 8.00am. Rehearsals for the Congregation will be held on 31st July 2024 at 9.00am.
The change of dates has been made in response to the national period of mourning declared by Government in honour of the Late Right Honourable Dr. Saulos Klaus Chilima, Vice President of the Republic of Malawi and eight officials whom we lost in a tragic plane crash on Monday, 10th June 2024. This has affected programmes involving the President of the Republic of Malawi, Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, who is the Chancellor of Mzuzu University, to Preside over the Congregation.
The rest of the arrangements remain as per the earlier announcement.
All stakeholders are therefore requested to adjust their plans accordingly.
