
Biography
Limbani Chrispin Gama is an information professional with a background in Library and Information Science. His academic journey includes a Master of Library and Information Science degree from Mzuzu University, completed in 2023, and a Bachelor’s degree in the same field and from the same university obtained in 2019.
He is currently working as a Lecturer in the Department of Information Sciences at Mzuzu University. Some of his areas of expertise include Scholarly publishing, Information Literacy, Information behaviour, Knowledge management, and Digital Curation. Before his current role, Limbani has worked as a Library Intern at the Malawi University of Science and Technology Library and Mzuzu University Library and Learning Resources Centre between 2019 and 2021. He also worked as a consultant with LIPP professionals, a consultancy firm specialized in Information and Records Services within Malawi. In 2021, Limbani and his team worked on setting up the Center for Social Concern Library in Lilongwe.
Limbani has contributed to research, with publications on different topics. He has co-authored studies on topics such as the information behavior of prison inmates, the use of social media in community policing, knowledge management among the clergy in Malawi and the challenges of e-learning in higher education. These studies provide valuable insights into how information is accessed and utilized in different contexts.
Limbani has also served the university on other different forums. He was President of MUSREC between 2018 and 2019 and therefore was a member of the Mzuzu University Council. He also served as Deputy Director of Publications of MUSREC between 2017 and 2018.
